๐ฟ Informed Consent & Participation Agreement
At PureVibes Breathwork, your safety, comfort, and well-being are always our top priority. This informed consent is here to support clarity, transparency, and trust โ so you can participate in your journey feeling informed and cared for.
Breathwork is widely regarded as safe when practiced appropriately, and serious adverse reactions are rare. That said, different breathwork styles place different demands on the body. Some journeys include Activation-style breathwork, while others use Down-Regulation techniques, which are slower, gentler, and calming to the nervous system.
This consent form helps us ensure that each participant is supported in the way that is most appropriate for their body.
๐ฟ Important Note About Participation
Having a contraindication does NOT mean you cannot participate in a 9D Breathwork journey.
If you have any of the conditions listed below, or if you have medical concerns of any kind, you are still welcome to participate. You will simply be guided to:
use Down-Regulation breath techniques, or
breathe normally during the journey until you have consulted with your healthcare provider and are cleared for Activation-style breathwork. (What to ask your doctor is listed below)
Down-Regulation breathwork is considered safe for all participants because it gently calms and regulates the nervous system rather than activating it.
๐ฟ Conditions That Require Caution With Activation Breathwork
You are required to consult your healthcare provider before practicing Activation-style breathwork with us if you have, or have a history of, any of the following:
Cardiovascular conditions
Abnormally high blood pressure
Aneurysms
Epilepsy or history of seizures
Use of heavy or sedating medications
Severe psychiatric symptoms (including psychosis, paranoia, or unmanaged bipolar disorder)
Osteoporosis
Recent surgery
Glaucoma
Currently pregnant
History of severe or complex trauma
Individuals with asthma should bring their inhaler to sessions.
This list is not exhaustive. If you have any medical, psychological, or emotional condition not listed here and are unsure whether Activation breathwork is appropriate, we strongly encourage you to consult with your healthcare provider.
๐ฟ Mental & Emotional Well-Being
If you are currently experiencing an acute emotional or spiritual crisis, or if you have a mental health condition and are not under professional care or do not have adequate support, we recommend postponing participation until additional support is in place.
๐ฟ Personal Responsibility & Acknowledgment
By participating in a PureVibes Breathwork session, you acknowledge that:
You are responsible for listening to your body and breathing in a way that feels safe and supportive
You may pause, modify, or stop any breathing technique at any time
You understand that the facilitator may offer modifications or guidance, but you remain responsible for your own participation
You acknowledge that the facilitator is not a licensed medical doctor, psychiatrist, or healthcare provider, and that breathwork sessions are not intended to diagnose, treat, or cure medical or psychological conditions.
You voluntarily choose to participate with full responsibility for your physical, emotional, and mental well-being during and after the session.
๐ฟ Release of Liability
By signing this form, you release PureVibes Breathwork, facilitator Stephanie Girardi, and any partnering businesses, owners, or personnel from liability for injuries, damages, or losses that may arise from participation. You accept full financial responsibility for any medical or therapeutic care you may require.
You confirm that you have read this consent fully, understand it, and agree to participate freely and voluntarily.
๐ฟ If Needed: What to Share With Your Healthcare Provider
If you are consulting a doctor about Activation-style breathwork, you may describe it as:
โA guided breathwork practice that involves sustained, deep breathing designed to activate the nervous system and support emotional release. It may temporarily alter breathing patterns, carbon dioxide levels, and nervous system activation.โ
Helpful questions to ask your provider:
Is deep, sustained breathing appropriate for my health condition?
Are there any risks specific to my diagnosis or medications?
Would a gentle, calming breathing practice be more appropriate for me?
Are there any precautions I should take if participating?
If you have questions about this form or the experience itself, weโre happy to help. For medical questions, please consult your healthcare provider.
